Master the Art of Reading!
May 16, 2009
If you love books, reading, and your library, come join us for the first annual Adult Summer Library Program entitled “Master the Art of Reading”. With everything that goes on at the library; different programs, events, etc., it seems like it is all for the children and adults sometimes get left out. And even though childrens’ programs ARE important, adults need library programs too. The purpose of this program is to catch the attention of adults and let them know what the library has to offer and remind them that reading is FUN!
Every Tuesday during the month of June, there will be a program from 5:15-6:15 pm upstairs in the library’s meeting room. Here is a list of the scheduled events:
- REGISTRATION STARTS MONDAY, MAY 18TH! Ask your librarian for a registration card.
- June 2- ”Mississippi Summer Flowers” with Susan Smith
- June 9- “Making a Topiary” with Pat Wheeler
- June 16- “History and Uses of Garden Pottery” with Steven Garner
- June 23- “Turf Management” with Jeff Wilson
During the month, there will be several opportunities to win prizes through different contests, such as a Scavenger Hunt, Reading Log, Bingo, etc. Also at each scheduled event there will be a chance to win a door prize provided by different businesses throughout Columbus!
So if you love to read, want to meet new people, or just need a reason to get out of the house, COME JOIN US! Bring your husband, wife, or friends and Master the Art of Reading!!
Hope to see you there!!!
